8. Max Green Alchemy Organic Formula Scalp Rescue Shampoo
From October through the winter months my scalp has chronic issues with flaking. As a child of a hairstylist I’ve always had access to high performing hair products. However, this chronic flaking has brought up so many insecurities and really limits the colors in my winter wardrobe. Going to parties like the Superbowl bring up a bit of stress as I get ready and think about what I can wear without the friend sit next to me noticing “dander” covering my shoulders.
Over the years I have tried every product from coal-tar to tea tree oil to prevent my scalp from becoming a snow-globe this time of year. Coal tar ranks 10/10 as most dangerous on the EWG website, not to mention it smelled so bad I couldn’t leave my house. For a while Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner was my go to solution, but my hair was always left dry and I really believe the sulfates were aggravating the flaking even more. My friend Lauren Hull @therosewateredit recommended Max Green Scalp Rescue Shampoo and I fell in love the first time the lemongrass aroma fill the shower. My only challenge has been washing out the shampoo from the tangles as it lathers SOOO well compared to other SLS free options, but with a little conditioner at the end my VERY thick hair untangles quickly. The price tag was a big shocking, but like most cleaner products a little goes a long way. My highlighted hair is left feeling soft and shiny afterwards and the sulfate free formulation is repairing my scalp!
